Guests must be at least 7 years old to enter the cat lounge, except during Whimsy Kiddy Hours. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. One adult chaperone is required for every two guests ages 7–15.

There is a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations, reschedules, and refunds cannot be issued within 48 hours of your visit.

All guests must meet the age requirement. No refunds will be issued for tickets purchased for underage guests.

Spending up to one hour in the lounge with the cats is a prerequisite for adoption, so you can find a kitty who is a great match. The lounge fee is waived when an adoption is approved.

Our cats come from several partner shelters, each with its own application completed at the café. Applications are submitted to and reviewed by the rescue, with the cat's best interest as the priority. The review process can take 3–5 days.

All adoption fees go back to the shelter your kitty came from, helping our partner organizations continue their work with cats and kittens in Madison and neighboring counties.

All cats have tested negative for FeLV/FIV, are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations including rabies, microchipped, on flea and tick prevention, and dewormed.

• Enter calmly and quietly, and give cats time to approach you.
• Never chase, corner, or force a cat to interact. Do not pick up cats.
• Do not disturb cats who are sleeping, eating, hiding, or asking for space.
• Do not feed cats unless a staff member instructs you to do so.
• Keep hands away from cats' faces and mouths. Never pull tails, ears, fur, or paws.
• Stay aware of your surroundings, follow staff instructions, and know that guests who do not follow the rules may be asked to leave.

Children ages 7–11 need extra guidance as they get to know the cats. Parents and guardians should help them use gentle hands, quiet voices, and let cats come to them. Children may not climb on cat trees, furniture, shelves, or other structures intended for the cats.

One adult must actively supervise every two children ages 7–13. Staff are here to help, but accompanying adults remain responsible for their group.

A cat walking away, hiding, flattening its ears, flicking its tail, or otherwise showing discomfort is asking for space. The goal is not to interact with every cat; it is to make each cat feel safe enough to choose when and how to interact.

• Cats may scratch or bite, even when they are not being intentionally aggressive. Entering the lounge carries this inherent risk.
• Because our cats are adoptable, the cats you meet on one visit may not be there on your next visit.
• Cats may sleep, seek attention, or decide they have somewhere else to be.
• Guests who are ill may be asked to postpone their visit. Please follow any additional health, safety, or animal-care instructions from staff.
